Inquiry Journeys contains four major types of assessments. Assessments measure:
Social Studies Content Knowledge
- Accuracy of information related to a specific social studies topic (ex. What are the purposes and functions of the three branches of the US government?)
Disciplinary Concepts and Skills
- Developing questions and planning inquiries
- Use of tools and practices belonging to civics, economics, geography, and history
- Evaluating sources and using evidence
- Communicating conclusions and taking action
Inquiry Skills
- Five powerful skill sets that are used throughout the inquiry process to generate questions, conduct sustained investigations, and take informed action
